:: Boiling
Bathtub ::
The water in my bathtub
Begins to boil
But
I am like a frog
In a silver heated petri dish
Unable
to distinguish
The difference
Oblivious
to my fate
As the knobs are turned
From warm to hot
Unable
to question why
I chose this spot
And
damn it's getting hot
In
here
I'm
sweating
And
although water surrounds me
In my naked state
My
pours blush
Rush
As
the laws of nature gravitate
Toward
me
Like
I'm the last man on earth
Like I'm the only one
Who gives a fuck what the human contribution is worth
I'm
dizzy now
Having
trouble to see
Those
17 valiums and 3 martinis
Are starting to take their weight on me
The
bathtub explodes
Onto the floor with a rush
Then
trickles, and slows,
To a flowing gush
There
is a hush
In the room
As
my breath becomes a whisper
My
last four thoughts are pure
I can't resist her
As
lady death kisses me on the lips for the last time
And
I write,
"Why are we here"
Underlined
As
the last line
